On September 24, 2024, "A Moonment to Remember" Resonance of Chinese Music -Traditional Chinese Music Concert, organized by China Cultural Center in Stockholm, was held at the Queen Silvia Concert Hall of Musikskolan Lilla Akademien in Stockholm, Sweden. The concert featured musicians from Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Emelia Gardemar, Principal of Musikskolan Lilla Akademien, and Cao Rongrui, Deputy Director of the School Affairs Committee of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, attended the event and delivered speeches.
That evening, the Queen Silvia Concert Hall was filled with melodious sounds, as the unique tones of traditional Chinese instruments deeply resonated with the audience. The delicate notes of the flute, the crisp sounds of the pipa, and the resonant strings of the guzheng vividly showcased the distinctive charm of traditional Chinese instruments.
On the evening of the performance, a special collaboration took place between a guqin teacher from Shanghai Conservatory of Music and a student from Lilla Akademien, where they performed the piece Big Fish on guzheng and violin, accompanied by piano played by the founder of Lilla Akademien. The final piece of the concert was a joint performance of The Moon Represents My Heart by the teachers and students from Shanghai Conservatory and Lilla Akademien. At that moment, the moon and the music intertwined, transcending culture and borders, expressing reunion and deep emotions.
The Mid-Autumn Festival symbolizes reunion for the Chinese people, and "A Moonment to Remember," beyond being a line from an ancient poem, perfectly captured the essence of this concert. No matter where one may be, the melodies of Chinese culture have the power to move hearts and evoke resonance. In this moonlit moment, music became a bridge of emotion, binding the feelings of homesickness with the beautiful vision of cultural exchange.
